Examining: 1 John 5:7 passage
Does this verse supports Catholic Trinity Doctrine:
Answer: Yes. Here is Why?
This verse is not found in original Greek manuscripts but it was found in Latin ( Roman Catholic first translation where the King James Version came from) as King James requested that the Bible be translated to his own language therefore I’m not sure about its legitimacy and it has been tried and tested by scholars it remains an additional verse to support Catholic doctrine as It was inserted to solidify the issue of people who didn’t believe to Jesus as God the Son and Holy Spirit.
Here is a bit of background at the beginning of the sixteenth century, a man named Erasmus was the first to publish a printed Greek text of the New Testament. In putting together the text for this edition, Erasmus consulted all of the Greek manuscripts which he could find. In the Greek manuscripts of First John which Erasmus examined, these words about the Trinity were not found. Consequently, his first printed edition of his Greek New Testament, issued in 1516, did not contain these words. NB! King James published in 1611 from Latin version not from Greek.
This omission caused a real problem among the people of that day since these words were found in the Latin text with which they were familiar. Erasmus defended himself by saying that these words were absent from the Greek texts which he had consulted and thus should not be placed into the text of the New Testament.
According to Codex the original Greek Manustript and Latin Manuscripts you will see that they replaced Water, Blood and Spirit WITH – Father, Word and Holy Spirit. This is what God speaks about when He said anyone who adds will drink His wrath.
The papacy assumed Power to change the Word of God even the Ten Commandments but we should always remain vigilant and not be deceived.
