Sharing the Truth of Oneness

It is a privilege and a responsibility to share this liberating truth with others. When engaging in conversation with those who hold to the Trinity, it is important to do so with grace, love, and a firm reliance on Scripture. Here are some key points to remember:

  • Lead with Scripture: Always bring the conversation back to the Bible. The most powerful argument is the direct and repeated declaration of God’s oneness throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Begin with Deuteronomy 6:4 and Isaiah 43:10, and then move to Jesus’s own words in John 10:30.

  • Address the “Persons” Argument: When someone asks about the “three persons,” explain that the Bible never uses this term. Explain that the “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit” are not separate individuals but are different manifestations or roles of the one God. For example, a man can be a father, a son, and a husband, but he is still one person. This analogy, unlike the Trinitarian ones, does not divide God into separate beings.

  • Focus on the Goal: The goal is not to win an argument but to share the clarity and freedom found in understanding God’s singular nature. Your testimony, coupled with clear biblical teaching, is the most effective tool.
