The Voice from Heaven at Baptism

Another common argument is the baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3:16-17), where a voice from heaven says, “This is my beloved Son,” and the Holy Spirit descends like a dove. Trinitarians argue that this scene proves the existence of three separate persons. However, this is a limited, human perspective on a divine manifestation.

• One God, One Manifestation: God is one Spirit. At this moment, He was manifesting Himself in two forms for a specific purpose. He was speaking as the Father (the divine voice from heaven) to declare His divine nature, and He was simultaneously present on earth in the body of Jesus (the Son) to identify His chosen one. This is not three persons; it is one Spirit demonstrating His omnipotence and omnipresence. It’s like a single person taking on different roles in a play—they are still one person, but they are demonstrating different aspects of their character. This is consistent with Jesus’s own words: “I am in the Father and the Father is in me” (John 14:10).
